Producer & 1st-time Director, Gina Hole Lazarowich, has worked in film since 1987 and photography & fashion since 1979, seeing fashion & film through 3 decades. She hung up her brushes & took a 3 year hiatus to have her kids, and then in 2003 Gina began to scout and launch THEY, Western Canada’s very first professional artist, photo and film agencies; THEY Representation (agency), They Produce (photo & video Production) & They Film (film production). After 15 years of managing, negotiating and bidding as an agent, Gina closed the They Rep agency doors in 2018 to pursue being a producer full time.
Calling on a career’s-worth of experience in film and fashion, Gina recently added executive producer to her credits with her first short film, “TOM and GRANT,” written, directed, executive produced and starring long-time friend, Tom Cavanagh, director and star of the hit CW hit series, “The Flash”. “TOM and GRANT” went onto win the ‘Best Comedy Short” awards at both the Manhattan Film Festival and Jersey Shore Festivals, “Audience Favourite” at the Nantucket Film Festival, the winner of 8 top awards including the #1 position of “Best in Show” at the Short Film Awards in LA. The short was also nominated in 5 categories including ‘Best Short Film’ at the LEO Awards.
Gina’s latest project, her documentary “Krow’s TRANSformation,” follows the three-year journey of a transgender former ‘female’ teen model into his true self and sees Gina adding director to her executive producer credit. “Krow’s TRANSformation” is slated for release worldwide via the OutTV Network in Canada, Australia New Zealand & South Africa and WAG Entertainment UK (distribution) in the rest of the world, late 2019/early 2020.
A native of Vancouver, Canada, during Gina’s former career she worked as a key makeup artist in film, television, photography & fashion for nearly 25 years, and spent five years as a celebrity makeup artist living in Hollywood working regularly with ‘up-and-comers’ like Drew Barrymore, Sarah Jessica Parker, Sarah McLachlan and Robert Downey Jr. Her makeup & hair work has appeared on magazine covers, print advertising, music videos, commercials, indie and feature films.
Gina has also produced photo shoots for the past 15 years for magazines such as Variety, Vogue, GQ, InStyle and TV Guide as well as gallery & video shoots for 20th Century Fox (“X-Men Apocalypse”), Interview Magazine (Frida Pinto) and BBC America (“Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency”) among others.
Gina currently is festival screening “Krow’s TRANSformation” worldwide and is extremely honoured that her film was selected to open the 27th Annual Raindance Film Festival in London in late September 2019. Her documentary has also been requested to be viewed privately for teaching strategies by the Government in BC, Trans Care BC as well as to the BC Surgeons & Medical Professionals. Gina also has 4 other projects ‘in development’ as a producer for the large and small screens.
