Executive Producer and First-time Director, Vancouver native Gina Hole Lazarowich has worked in the entertainment industry since the 1980’s, first working as a key makeup artist in both the fashion and film industries. Having lived and worked in Hollywood as a celebrity makeup artist, her work appeared on magazine covers, music videos, celebrity junkets and feature length movies. In 2004, Gina hung up her brushes to start Western Canada’s very first professional artist, photo and film agency, THEY Produce & Film. Gina has produced photoshoots for magazines such as Variety, Vogue, GQ, People and INstyle as well as gallery and video shoots for Interview Magazine, BBC America, ABC and for 20th Century Fox.
Most recently Gina added Film Producer to her credits, and the title of Executive Producer following the success of her first short film, “TOM and GRANT” directed by and starring Tom Cavanagh, star of hit CW series “The Flash.” The short film went onto win “Best Comedy Short” award at the Manhattan Film Festival and Jersey Shore Festivals, “Audience Favorite” at the Nantucket Film Festival and the winner of 8 top awards at the Short Film Awards in LA, including ‘Best in Show’.
Gina’s current project, the documentary “Krow’s TRANSformation,” which is both produced and directed by Gina, follows the three-year journey of a transgender former ‘female model’ into his true self. Her film was released this winter in Canada on OUTtv (also pending worldwide release) as well was chosen to open the 27th annual Raindance Film Festival in London, won “Audience Favorite” at the Palm Springs LGBTQ Film Festival and won top prize of “Best Documentary” at the Mallorca Spain International Film Festival.
